National Poetry Month #2: The Last Snow

2013-03-24 07.49.20

The sky is full, the sky is grey.
There is no color.
It’s one large thick cloud.
It’s drab and dreary.
It distorts the horizon.
The sky is full, the sky is grey.

The trees are burdened, the trees are bear.
Their leaves have all left.
Their green is all gone.
The white has taken their place.
It’s not supposed to be there.
The white has overstayed.
The trees are burdened, the trees are bear.

The ground is covered, the ground is white.
The white never ends.
It reaches up to the sky.
The two become one.
The dead grass is gone.
The brown mud is swallowed up.
All life is missing.
The ground is covered, the ground is white.
